Dr. Sunny G. Hallowell believes health care should be patient-centered, evidence-based, supported by policy and open to innovation. As an Associate Professor at Villanova College of Nursing where she strives to inspire nursing students to become expert clinicians and patient advocates through her teaching of Health Policy, Research, and Pediatrics. She has more than 20 years of clinical experience in pediatrics and perinatal care, as a Pediatric Nurse, Nurse Practitioner, and Lactation Consultant. Dr. Hallowell has been recognized for her innovative, collaborative and mixed-methods approach to research and education. She is an enthusiastic collaborator and welcomes opportunities to work with students and professionals to solve problems. Dr. Hallowell is nationally recognized as one of five current Josiah Macy Foundation Faculty Scholars, a forward-thinking group of nurses and physicians poised to lead health care in the country. She is developing a library of virtual gaming simulations to help future nurses hone their decision making and communication skills to address the dynamic healthcare needs of the diverse populations we serve.
