Karin Page-Cutrara PhD RN CCNE CCSNE is an Associate Professor, Teaching Stream in the School of Nursing, and the Associate Dean for Learning, Teaching and Academic Programs in the Faculty of Health at York University in Toronto, Canada. Karin obtained a BNSc at Queen’s University in Kingston, Ontario, and a Master of Nursing at Athabasca University, Alberta. She completed a PhD at Duquesne University in Pittsburgh, PA that focused on the use of simulation in undergraduate nursing education and on the use of prebriefing for augmenting clinical reasoning and judgment. Karin currently uses simulation in teaching thinking skills and for developing nursing competencies in baccalaureate nursing students. Karin has published articles on prebriefing, and edited texts and authored chapters in nursing education textbooks for both students and educators. She is committed to addressing the challenges of teaching and learning in the academic setting, and to facilitating undergraduate student learning and competency development.
