Natalie is a passionate educator who believes in providing nursing students with a rich and rewarding post-secondary experience. She has spearheaded a range of innovative student initiatives. These include the development of a student mentorship program, a student council, and various interprofessional events. In addition, she has led multiple international experiences that have provided students with unique opportunities to learn beyond the classroom. Recently, Natalie's research has focused on enhancing students' confidence, knowledge, and skills in caring for individuals living with mental health conditions. To this, she has led the development of a virtual simulation with persons with lived experience founded on principles of person-centered care and trauma-informed approaches. Natalie's goal is to equip the next generation of nurses with the necessary skills to improve patient outcomes and reduce the stigma associated with living with a mental illness.
