Krista Eckels is a PhD student at the University of Kansas Medical Center, where she previously earned her Master of Occupational Therapy degree. Her research interests are centered around system thinking and human centered design in healthcare delivery, with a focus on using ethnographic approaches to understand these concepts. With over five years of experience in simulation, Krista has been involved in assessment development and observation for clinical carryover. She brings a unique perspective to her work, combining her expertise in occupational therapy with her passion for improving healthcare delivery through the use of human factors and design. Krista's ultimate goal is to help systems provide better care by designing systems that are more efficient, effective, and patient-centered.
