Theresa Raphael-Grimm is Professor of Nursing and Medicine and Adjunct Professor of Psychiatry at University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill where she has been both an educator and a clinician (psychotherapist) for over 20 years. She serves as Associate Director of the Taking Care of Our Own Program (a physician support program) and provides psychotherapy to a physician population. She teaches courses that are focused on: diversity and inclusion, patient-provider communication, psychopathology and methods of group and family psychotherapy. With over 100 invited presentations, she is an experienced speaker who holds master’s and doctoral degrees from University of Pennsylvania. Her book: The Art of Communication in Nursing and Healthcare: An Interdisciplinary Approach, is a user’s guide to navigating the complexities of interpersonal interactions in the healthcare environment.
