Sharon Jackson, DNP, MSN, RN, PMH-BC is a Clinical Assistant Professor at the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill School of Nursing. She has 25 years of nursing experience and has been teaching undergraduate nursing students for the past 15 years. After working as a nurse educator for eight years, Dr. Jackson returned to school and earned her Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) from Grand Canyon University in 2018. She has also been awarded a psychiatric mental health nurse certification through the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC).
Dr. Jackson coordinates didactic and clinical instruction for the psychiatric mental health course and facilitates clinical experiences for students in acute inpatients settings. She is interested in developing lab and simulation experiences to educate students and evaluate their clinical thinking, clinical reasoning, and clinical judgement.
