I have been teaching in undergraduate nursing programs since 2015, with involvement in simulation-based learning education since 2010. Roles of Simulationist have included: coordinating simulation, facilitate pre and debriefing, running the manikin and technology pieces, director role, and leading standards of best practices within the Healthcare Simulation Center. l wrote my master’s thesis on simulation: Using Simulation Education to Assess the Confidence in Experience Hospital Registered Nurses. I completed my PhD Dissertation research on evaluating effectiveness of simulation with response-based and process-based participant roles. I was involved with provisional accreditation submission in 2018 and then lead our achievement of SSH Full Accreditation in CORE and Teaching/Education in 2022. I have also been heavily involved in developing IPE simulations and collaborative experiences with various healthcare disciplines in our university and with community partners. I’ve led many professional development sessions on the Healthcare Standards of Best Practices™ and completed the University of Washington simulation modules, MOOC Simulation Training Course, TeamSTEPPS 2.0 Course, SSH Accreditation workshops, Friday Night in the ER Simulation facilitator training and ASPE training modules.
