Karol Renfroe began her career at the Auburn University College of Nursing in 2008, is currently employed as an assistant clinical professor, and has served as coordinator of the nursing resource center (clinical skills lab) for the past 15 years. In her role at AUSON, she is heavily involved with the simulation and clinical skills pedagogies in nursing education. Karol has been integral in the development and advancement of the simulation program at AUSON and has seen it grow exponentially over the past several years. She was heavily involved in the design of the current state-of-the-art clinical skills labs and simulation center. Karol became certified as a Certified Health Simulation Educator (CHSE) in December 2018. Karol serves on both the simulation committee and technology committees for the purpose of advancing knowledge and use of these learning strategies in the undergraduate and graduate curriculum.
Mrs. Renfroe has been a nurse for 42 years and has a 27-year history in areas of maternal health and peri-operative nursing prior to becoming a faculty member at AUCON.
