Gloria Dixon, MSN, DNP, RN, CNE is an Assistant Professor and Simulation Coordinator at Indiana University East School of Nursing and Health Sciences. Dr. Dixon spent half of her nursing career at a rural hospital and transitioned into academia thirteen years ago. Dr. Dixon currently teaches ethics in the undergraduate program and leadership in the graduate program. She received her Doctor of Nursing Practice from Indiana University Purdue University Indianapolis; the final project was the development and implementation of a Dedicated Education Unit (DEU) for clinical rotation. Implementation of a DEU is an important collaboration strategy between nursing education and nursing practice, forging partnership between clinicians, academics, and students. Dr. Dixon’s future research interests include the use of simulation to support the development of clinical judgement.
