Chassity Mays earned her Bachelors of Science degree in nursing from Indiana University in 2005. Upon graduation, Chassity began her nursing career in Riley Operating Room. In the OR Chassity specialized in pediatric cardiovascular surgery. Chassity is an award winning nurse with 10+ years of experience in the OR and was promoted to Senior Partner in 2014. Chassity received the Paul Harris award from the Greenfield Rotary Club for outstanding commitment to the club and community in 2012 after traveling to Uganda, Africa on 3 medical mission trips. During her time in the OR she was often a preceptor to new hires, and this sparked her love for education. In October of 2014, Chassity accepted a position at The Simulation Center of Fairbanks Hall. Simulation has brought the perfect combination of innovative education and healthcare to her life. She became a Certified Healthcare Simulation Educator in 2017 and Certified Healthcare Simulation Operations Specialist- Advanced in 2021. Chassity is an active member of SSH and Chair of the Home Grown Solutions Committee.
