Dr. Carlson, RN PhD FGSA is a tenured professor at the University of Oklahoma Fran and Earl Ziegler College of Nursing. Her research focuses on cerebral blood flow during sleep and cognitive decline in older adults. A national expert in biobehavioral science, her work involves the design and application of minimally invasive physiological sensors and wearable devices, signal processing and analysis, behavioral observation methods, neurocognitive testing, inflammatory/immune markers, epigenetics, and the integration of physiologic and behavioral measures. Her current randomize clinical trial examines impact of vaccines to boost innate immunity in nursing home residents.
