Dr. Ann Loomis is a Clinical Associate Professor in the School of Nursing at Purdue University. After earning her BSN from Purdue University, Dr. Loomis worked as a staff nurse on the neurosurgical and neuro Intensive Care step-down units, later serving ten years as a physician extender and surgical assistant for a neurosurgical group. During this time, Dr. Loomis earned her Master’s in Nursing from the University of Evansville. She entered Nursing Education in 2008 as Adjunct Nursing Faculty with the University of Evansville. Dr. Loomis went on to earn a PhD in Nursing Education from the University of Northern Colorado in 2018 where her research focus was simulation and debriefing. She currently teaches freshman and sophomore nursing students and is actively involved in a program of research within the school of nursing and extends beyond to grant funded multi-site studies.
