Dr. Angela Mulcahy, is a Clinical Associate Professor, Pre-licensure Program Coordinator, and BSN Honors Program Coordinator with the Texas A&M School of Nursing. Dr. Mulcahy earned her BSN from the University of Wyoming, MS from the University of North Dakota, and PhD from the University of Texas at Tyler. Dr. Mulcahy is a certified Medical-Surgical Nurse (CMSRN), a Certified Healthcare Simulation Educator (CHSE), and has over 13 years of education experience in nursing and the use of simulation as a teaching modality. Dr. Mulcahy is a member of both SSIH and INACSL and was an INACSL Research Fellow in 2020-2021. Dr. Mulcahy joined the faculty of Texas A&M University School of Nursing in 2012 and over the past 10 years, her research has focused on the use of simulation with baccalaureate students to increase clinical performance while decreasing the use of traditional clinical sites. Dr. Mulcahy has experience with interdisciplinary collaboration as the education director/coordinator to expand the reach of Forensic Nursing to Improve Access to Care and Screening and successfully managed two simulation grants from The Texas Higher Education Collaborating Board (THECB), both focused on the development of the simulation program in the School of Nursing pre-licensure program. Dr. Mulcahy's current research is focused on the use of virtual reality simulation education.
