Tammie Sherner, MSN, APRN-CNS, OCN, BC joined the School of Nursing at Boise State University in 2021as an adjunct professor, and loved it so much, she decided to join full time. She has extensive experience in psychiatric, community mental health and oncology nursing. She received her Advanced Practice MSN from Idaho State University, with her specialty population being the practice of psychiatry and mental health care among those with cancer. Her masters work involved measuring depression, anxiety and distress among the cancer patients. She was a provider with Saint Alphonsus Cancer Care Center before beginning her teaching career. She is passionate about allowing students to practice and perfect therapeutic communication in anyway possible.
