Susan Henley Hébert, Ph.D., RN, CHSE, is the Assistant Dean of Simulation for the College of Nursing and collaborator of the Health Innovation Technology in Simulation (HITS) Lab. In this role, she oversees all simulation activities within both undergraduate and graduate curriculum including integrating simulation into curriculum, simulation faculty development, and administration of daily educational activities in the CON simulation spaces, and provides expert mentoring in simulation for grant funded projects and simulation research. She is also a nursing innovator and collaborator on several technologies developed for healthcare education, and serves as an expert consultant in simulation accreditation, space design and integrating simulation into academic programs. Additionally, Susan is involved in several academic/practice partnerships for development of simulation educators and programs. Her clinical background includes experiences in Neonatal Intensive Care and clinical nurse education. She completed a Ph.D. in Nursing from the University of Tennessee, holds a Master of Science in Medical Simulation from Drexel College of Medicine, and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Illinois Wesleyan University. Susan also is expertly trained in standardized patient use and simulation-based mastery learning, and a member of the National League of Nursing Simulation Leader Program, External Relations Committee Member of the international Society for Simulation in Healthcare, the Healthcare Standards of Best Practice Board for the International Nursing Association for Clinical Simulation and Learning, and the East Tennessee Director of the Tennessee Simulation Alliance.
