Dr. Rossler's expertise within academia has developed over a time span of over 18 years and includes expertise using simulation-based education technology and methodologies to create dynamic teaching-learning experiences for future healthcare professionals. She is an Associate Professor with Baylor University Louise Herrington School of Nursing. Before entering academia, she commenced her career as an RN and Clinical Nurse Specialist serving critical care patients thru direct patient care, leadership roles, patient case management, participating in evidence-based research activities, and onboarding of newly licensed registered nurses. Her research focuses on the effectiveness of simulation-based teaching strategies for improving practice behaviors and collaborative practice among nurses and healthcare professionals. Current research includes comparing virtual screen-based simulation and human patient simulation to transition newly licensed nurses, incorporating telehealth into the curriculum to teach motivational interviewing skills, and using immersive virtual reality. She holds the distinction of being selected as a 2016-2017 International Nursing Association for Clinical Simulation and Learning (INACSL) Research Fellow, is a Certified Nurse Educator (CNE) thru the National League for Nursing, and a Certified Healthcare Simulation Educator (CHSE) offered by the Society for Simulation in Healthcare (SSH). Since 2014, she has served with SSH to facilitate CHSE Blueprint Review workshops.
