Carrie Miller Ph.D., RN, CNE, CHSE, IBCLC graduated with her BSN from Oregon Health Sciences University in 1991, her MSN-ED from the University of Phoenix in 2006, and her Ph.D. from Washington State University in 2013. She is currently employed at Seattle University-College of Nursing in Seattle Washington as an Associate Dean for Innovations in Clinical Education. Dr. Miller has published in several peer-reviewed journals and contributes to the science of simulation by offering her expertise as a peer reviewer for several journals focusing on simulation and maternal/newborn content. In her role as an Associate Dean for Innovations in Clinical Education, Dr. Miller leads the Clinical Performance Lab, a 20,000sf state-of-the-art simulation learning space that empowers new learners to practice and refine newly acquired skills in a psychologically safe space. In her consulting work, Dr. Miller has created the Washington State Simulation task force that works with the Nursing Care Quality Assurance Commission and simulation centers across Washington state to provide simulation faculty development workshops.
