University of Colorado Colorado Springs
Judith Scott, PhD, RN, is an Assistant Professor in the Helen and Arthur E. Johnson Beth-El College of Nursing at the University of Colorado Colorado Springs. She teaches population health for RN to BSN students, guiding their academic and clinical work. She researches aging in place of older adults in retirement communities, examining the ways that sensory and cognitive impairments affect well-being. Included in her research interests is discovery of how simulation can be used to improve nursing student knowledge, perceptions of aging, and intent to work with older adults at graduation. Judy is an active member of the simulation committee at the college, and engages with students and faculty using a novel geriatric simulation approach (Mask-Edâ„¢) in undergraduate nursing and health science classrooms.
