Dr. Samantha Smeltzer is the Director of Integrated Simulation Operations for Orbis Education. Dr. Smeltzer attended the University of Pittsburg for her undergraduate work and earned her M.S.N in Nursing Education at Robert Morris University and her Doctorate from Capella University. Dr. Smeltzer has over 11 years of experience specific to simulated nursing education and has participated in all aspects of simulation and nursing education across all prelicensure degree tracks. She is passionate about research and has contributed to the profession on a regional and national level sharing her expertise with a variety of her colleagues. Dr. Smeltzer carries her certification as a Healthcare Simulation Educator(CHSE) and is a member of SSH and INACSL. Dr. Smeltzer persists to remain abreast of current practices in the workforce by continuing her work at the bedside caring for veterans in the progressive care and med surg unit. Dr. Smeltzer is excited to have this opportunity to share her expertise and passion for simulated learning with you. In her free time, Sam is an avid traveler and loves to bring the whole family along for adventures.
