Dr. Tiefel holds a BS degree from Indiana State University and a BSN and DNP from Marian University in Indianapolis, Indiana. She practiced as a Hospitalist and occupational health NP in 2020-2021. Since August of 2020, Dr Tiefel has been employed full time as a Clinical Assistant Professor at Purdue University specializing in maternal health. More recently, she has taken on the role of dedicated simulation faculty for the Maternal Health group along with her co-presenter, Dr. Batts. She has participated in simulation education since starting at Purdue and has a desire to provide realistic and evidence based simulation experience. Her research interests have focused on issues such as: maternal care deserts, decreasing primary cesarean sections, ESC for NAS, and improving students' clinical skills through simulation.
